QCoal Foundation develops programs in conjunction with communities across Queensland to deliver sustainable improvements to health, liveability and education over the long term.
QCoal Foundation and Act for Kids are proud to partner for Re-ACT CQ; a pilot program designed to create positive and lasting change in the lives of children in Central Queensland through the delivery of crucial and high demand trauma-informed therapy services.
Developed in partnership with Hear and Say, the RETAIN program uses telepractice to support school-aged children in regional Queensland who have hearing loss to develop and maintain optimal listening, speech and language outcomes, social skills and access to the school curriculum.
QCoal Foundation Scholarship
QCoal Foundation is proud to partner with James Cook University to provide the QCoal Foundation Scholarship. Established in 2015 the scholarship program aims to provide a pathway to further education for students from regional and remote communities by meeting some of the costs associated with having to relocate to attend university. A new scholarship is awarded each year. Applications open on 1 October each year.
The RFDS Dental Service provides oral care to regional and remote communities across Queensland. This mobile dental service delivers dental treatment using state-of-the art technology in a purpose-built semi-trailer. As a Founding Partner of the RFDS Dental Service, the QCoal Foundation funded the initial four-year trial of the program that provided dental care to over 8,000 patients in 21 regional and remote Queensland communities.
The QCoal Foundation has committed $3 million to a social venture partnership with Royal Flying Doctors of Australia (Queensland Section), which will facilitate the construction and operation of the RFDS Aviation Training Facility in Bundaberg. Constructed next to the existing RFDS Bundaberg Base, the facility will house one of the world’s only Beechcraft King Air B360 flight training simulators servicing the training needs of the RFDS and creating a sustainable commercial opportunity for the RFDS into the future.
