Building resilient regional and remote Queensland communities.
RFDS Dental Service
As the Service’s Founding Donor, the QCoal Foundation is very pleased the residents of Monto and surrounds will again be able to access the oral health services of the RFDS Dental Service.
Since it began operation, originally as the QCoal Community Dental Service, the Service has visited Monto four times, treated over 400 patients and delivered over 3,000 treatments.
Through ongoing visits, the Service has seen patients move from emergency pain relief to preventative treatments such as check-ups and maintenance.
QCoal Foundation Chair Christopher Wallin has welcomed the news that the RFDS Dental Service will again visit Monto.
“We understand from the RFDS that there has been a strong response from the community and it will be a busy swing,” Mr Wallin said.
“As a result, the RFDS have increased their stay in Monto from two weeks to three in order to treat as many patients as possible.”
“As Founding Donor, the QCoal Foundation is very proud that the RFDS, with the support of the Commonwealth Government, are continuing to supply high quality and much-needed oral health services to rural and remote Queensland.”
The Service will visit Monto from 26 February to 8 March and members of the community can enquire about an appointment by calling 1800 002 507.
